The Unity Candle: one of the most common ceremonies. The bride and groom each take a lit candle and simultaneously light a third larger "unity candle." They may blow out their individual lights, or leave them lit, symbolizing that they have not lost their individuality in their unity. You may purchase your own candle and can have it personalized with your names and the date, allowing it to be a keepsake from your wedding. If you prefer, we will supply a beautiful unity candle for your use at the wedding ceremony. Some couples ask their parents to light the tapers and then hand them to the bride and groom. They see it as the parents having given life to the candles as they gave life to them, and are now handing over that life to their child to be given to another in the union of marriage.
